Candle Workshop by Jia

Join a small-group candle workshop at Common Things in the East Village and create your own decorative candles.

This session is part of our ongoing workshop series by Jia, centered on making as a way of noticing space. Participants will shape, assemble, and layer wax by hand to create two candles from start to finish. Each workshop stands on its own, with forms and approaches evolving over time.

This month, the Candle Project takes place at Common Things, a thoughtfully curated space in the East Village.

What You'll Make

During this workshop, participants will create and take home two candles:

• A sculptural pillar candle assembled with wax flowers

• A hand-painted candle using layered wax application

All materials, tools and packagings are provided. The workshop is fully guided and suitable for those with or without prior experience.

• Please arrive on time, as the session will begin promptly

• Please avoid wearing delicate clothing, as you will be working with warm wax
